Videos about my tours…

I hope you will check out the newest addition to my website – short video clips featuring me talking about my tours. Thanks so much to my stepdaughter Rachael Burrows who filmed and edited these for me. All were unscripted so consequently there was the odd mistake by me, most of which have also been kept for you to enjoy….

Jordan and Israel with Jill Worrall

March 3 to March 24, 2018 approx

Although at the centre of a tumultuous region, Jordan and Israel remain open and safe for visitors. With iconic destinations, such as Petra and Jerusalem, they are definitely bucket-list places for many people.

The Jordan part of the tour is organised with very good friends of mine, who are highly experienced tour operators and guides based in Petra, one of the new Eight Wonders of the World. I’ve travelled through Jordan five times now and still love it. From Jordan we will cross into Israel, again using highly trusted operators closely connected to my European business operator and partner.

Highlights in Jordan – the Roman city of Jerash, Jordan River Baptism site, the Dead Sea, Red Sea cruise, overnight in Wadi Rum, Petra and family feast. Highlights in Israel:  Tel Aviv, Caesarea, the Sea of Galilee, Nazareth, Masada, Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives.

Return to Iran

With Jill Worrall and Reza Mirkhalaf-Zadeh

April 1 – April 22 2018, approx

Five Places Still Available.

It’s been a few years since I and Reza (in my opinion THE best guide in Iran) have been able to organise a tour together and we’re not sure if there will be another one! So, we’ve tried to include as much as we can in this itinerary without making it too exhausting.

Iran is one of the least-understood countries in the world and always astonishes first-timers with the warmth and friendliness of its people, the magnificence of its traditional architecture and the depth and drama of its history.  It’s becoming more of a mainstream destination these days so come with me soon before it is truly swamped!

Highlights: Tehran’s best museums, including the incomparable State Jewels; the World Heritage Listed Tabriz bazaar; St Stephanos Armenian Church; Kerman and the Prince’s Garden; Yazd (Towers of Silence, Zoroastrian fire temples and historic old quarter), Persepolis and Shiraz; Isfahan (mosques historic bridges and fantastic shopping!)

Arctic Adventure

A rare and unique cruise to remote Franz Josef Land

July 2 – July 21, 2018
Price: Contact me for more info.

Tour limited to 12 people

Jill Worrall Tours is delighted to be the only tour operator in New Zealand to be offering this journey. Places on this tour are very strictly limited for what will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel through a world of icebergs, glacier-capped peaks and abundant wildlife including polar bears and walrus.

Land with polar ice caps and glaciers melting at an alarming rate this truly is a tour to do now before this incredible part of the world changes for ever.

Beginning in Longyearbyen on the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard, one of the world’s last great wildernesses where polar bears outnumber people, we will embark on a 14-night cruise aboard the luxurious MV Sea Spirit (see at the end of the itinerary for more details about our vessel). Our route will take us across the Barents Sea to remote, Franz Josef Land, a volcanic, glaciated archipelago only discovered about 150 years ago. Franz Josef Land is Russian territory.

This was once a major stopping point for famous polar explorers making the often deadly passage to the North Pole. So, not only will we be in a world of unforgettable scenery but we will be following in the footsteps of some of the world’s great adventurers. This archipelago is only accessible for a few weeks every year.

National Geographic has described these islands having pristine land and underwater environments. They are home to polar bears, walrus, and rare species of whale including narwhal, beluga and bowhead.

Because the cruise season on the Arctic is so short, demand for space on the cruises is intense. We are so excited to have secured room for a maximum of 12 passengers. Jill will be accompanying you all the way from New Zealand and even on the ship which has a maximum capacity of 114 passengers, she will taking extra good care of her own group, (as will the crew of 94!)

Our 12 places are being shared with one of Jill’s most trusted operators so this is absolutely a case of book now to secure your place because if we do not fill them in New Zealand they will certainly be filled from elsewhere.
