Bhutan East & West Tour

Bhutan East & West

Discover the hidden jewel of the Himalayas!

21 magical days

Tour dates: 21 April - 11 May, 2012

In Spring I thought my tour to Bhutan in autumn 2010 might have been my last one (not because I don't still love going there but after eight tours it felt time to take a break). However after seeing the rhododendron forests in the far east for the first time I vowed I had to try to get back there one more time to see them in all their spring glory.

There are rhodo forests elsewhere in Bhutan but these were even more luxuriant - they should be truly spectacular when we visit. There are hornbills in the forests here too although we didn't see them in 2010 - that's something else I have my finger's crossed for, for 2012!

I was also intrigued as to how in many ways the east of Bhutan is how the rest of the country was when I first visited about 15 years ago. Development has been carefully managed in Bhutan but change has come, especially around the capital Thimpu so the contrasts across the country are intriguing. So, if you want to join me on what might be my last hurrah in Bhutan, this is the trip to join.
